The Citation Engine is designed to identify and highlight when legal sources or factual assertions contradict one another.

Contradiction Detection

If the engine finds two sources that provide conflicting data (e.g., Witness A says X, but Document B says Y), it will:
  1. Flag the Conflict: Highlight the specific text nodes on the Canvas in Red.
  2. Propose Resolution: Suggest additional documents that might resolve the ambiguity.

Precedent Overrides

In cases of conflicting case law, the engine automatically prioritizes binding precedent over persuasive authority based on the matter’s jurisdictional settings. Lawyers can manually “override” these suggestions to follow a specific strategy path.
